====== Climate Change Resources ====== On this page are some references to particular topics relating to climate science. To add to the list you will first need to register on the Wiki and log in. This is a separate login from the chat forum, although you can use the same user name to register (and this is preferred). For instructions on how to add to or edit this page, [[:wikiguide#adding_to_the_climate_references_page|refer to the Wiki Guide]]. ===== Climate Science Websites ===== **Note**: An extended list of **climate-related blogs** is provided [[:climate:climate_change_blogs|on this page]]. * [[|AAAS - What we know]] - A concise summary of, well, what we know about human-caused climate change or as the tagline on their homepage states "Based on the evidence, about 97% of climate scientists agree that human-caused climate change is happening." * [[|Climate change: evidence and causes]] - A very good introduction to climate change from the Royal Society. It includes video and answers to key questions. * [[|]] - a commentary site on climate science by [[|working climate scientists]] for the interested public and journalists. It was set up with the aim of providing a quick response to developing stories and provide the context sometimes missing in mainstream commentary. * [[|]] - has detailed explanations of some of the most commonly discussed aspects of climate change (by the general public, not necessarily by scientists). The site has a lot of information sorted under "denier" memes such as "it's the sun". * [[|NASA - Global Climate Change]] - the NASA website about global climate change, providing a depth and breadth of information for the general public. * [[|Global Change:- Climate]] - climate change pages from, a website managed by a conglomerate of related government agencies in the USA. * [[|Climate Council (Australia)]] - The Climate Council was created after "thousands of Australians chipped in to Australia's biggest crowd-funding campaign", raising more than $1m in a matter of days. The Climate Commission, which was abolished by the then incoming Prime Minister, Tony Abbott, was relaunched as the independent Climate Council. It provides information on climate change with a focus on how it affects Australia. * [[|Climate Science Rapid Response Team]] - a match-making service where 160 climate scientists are available, chosen on the basis of their professional competence, to connect with lawmakers and the media who are seeking expert advice relating to climate change. * [[|How to Talk to a Climate Skeptic]]: Responses to the most common skeptical arguments on global warming - GRIST series by Coby Beck - an oldie but still good. * [[|Climate change: A guide for the perplexed]] - article by Michael Le Page at New Scientist. Another oldie but goodie from 2007. ===== Data - temperature, sea ice and other climate data ===== ==== Snapshots ==== * [[|NOAA Climate Dashboard]] - A great site to refer people to who want to see the facts about climate change, or who claim they want to see empirical evidence.
