  Excuse the ignorance, Trent1543, but what is a pyramid truther? (Yes, I know I could look it up in the time it takes to write this, but I'm feeling tired and figure the answer would be, um, interesting?)
  
  I'm also ignorant of Bert Rutan, so my multiple ignorances are showing. (I will check out who he is by myself, since I'm probably alone in that regard  )

  The GOP frontrunner's theory that archaeologists are wrong and that the Egyptian pyramids were really built by the biblical figure Joseph to store grain wasn't created in a vacuum. In the fringier corners of the Internet, variations of the pyramids-as-grain-storage argument has spawned entire blogs and a 30-minute documentary.
  
  Carson -- who is continuing to defend beliefs that were surfaced this week in video of a 1998 commencement address by the acclaimed neurosurgeon -- joins the ranks of pyramids truthers who believe that, warned by God of an oncoming famine, Joseph built grain storage units that exist today in the form of the ancient pyramids.
  
  His theory flies in the face of what has long been settled by modern archeologists: that the pyramids were built as tombs for Egyptian pharaohs.

  You have to wonder about idiots like these. Have they ever taken a look at how a pyramid is built? There's bugger all room for storing anything in them. They're mostly solid rock. If Joseph built pyramids to store grain, then the poor lad wasn't very bright.

  Burt Rutan, is a well known space engineer who to aviation aficionados such as myself is a god among mere mortals. Listed among many of his accomplishments, is that he designed the first aircraft to circle the earth on a single tank of gas and designed the first private spacecraft., SpaceShipOne.
  
  Suffice it to say that, I was disappointed when I found out he was a climate denier. Brian Angliss over at Scholars and Rogues had a lengthy discussion with him about his climate denial and his hypothesis that the blocks for the pyramids were poured not cut. Tamino also had an article on Mr. Rutan

  Thanks all. I think it points to how it's risky to judge a person on one attribute alone. Being so smart, if you locked him in a room with a couple of top science communicators for two or three days, he might even start to change his mind on climate change.

  Burt Rutan is another who comes out with logic errors like "because there is not much of something it has a small effect ".
  It amazes me that else wise smart people say such stupid things .
  No amount of information changes such minds .. Motivated reasoning blocks out any attempt .
  You would have to dismantle to much of his world view to actually get though .
