This widget is updated every couple of minutes and shows why Australia is such a huge GHG emitter.

Louder (Wronger) with Crowder "debunks" climate change "myths"

Same talking points, but now packaged up in yet another format.

This one's rapidly spreading over social media, and of course, deniers will pat themselves on the back for how right they are.

He's not saying anything that isn't already addressed by Skeptical Science, so really not worth the effort of address them individually YET AGAIN. The problem is that deniers will take the lack of a response as "they've won" so is there really a good way to effectively respond as stuff like this pops up on other forums?

  • Let them think so. As long as it stays in their bubble, it is sufficient that critical thinkers can find the answers on Skeptical Science. One should not reward bad behaviour with attention, that only increases the amount of nonsense.
  • It may not be completely applicable in this case (just 5 myths and not all of them climate science related) but here is the link to a blog post I wrote for SkS which might come in handy for real gish-gallops using tons of climate science myths:

Handy resources when facing a firehose of falsehoods
  • but if you actually read the link on the first "myth" regarding the amount of warming the article actually states

"The number may sound low, but as an average over the surface of an entire planet, it is actually high, which explains why much of the land ice on the planet is starting to melt and the oceans are rising at an accelerating pace. The heat accumulating in the Earth because of human emissions is roughly equal to the heat that would be released by 400,000 Hiroshima atomic bombs exploding across the planet every day."

I find this quite often with deniers - they rely on the innate unsceptism of their audience to not bother reading the actual linked article/information

it will often say exactly the opposite of what they project

a case of "never mind the quality, just look at the quantity"
